Flower Boy Next Door (이웃집 꽃미남)
I have been putting off this review due to lazyness, but I just rewatched it since I bought the DVD and ughhhhh. This drama has shot up to #1 on my list ! Which is definitely saying a lot. I’ve watched a lotttt of dramas over the years but nothing has ever come close my first and all time favorite korean drama I’m sorry, I love you. But this one has ! I love everything about this drama. And I actually fell in love at episode one, which is a big thing for me since it rarely ever happens. The beginning was a little slow, but it  was really funny and cute. I was really curious as the route this drama was going take. It was a fun, exciting, heartbreaking, sweet, and wonderful journey through the episodes. Seeing Dok Mi slowly break out of her shell. As Que Guem slowly fall in love with her.
The unrequited love was really tragic in this drama, but in the end everyone got what I thought was a decent ending (which honestly rarely happens in the drama world) but I think all the loose ends were tied up somehow, and  I really liked that. I really loved the friendships in this drama as well. I love how they all formed a little family with all the others living on the fourth floor and had those little cooking classes, it was the cutest thing ever.
I usually hate those minor characters in the dramas that really don’t add anything to the storyline, but I loved Watanabe! He was so freaking adorable! I was so sad when he left. But, I think this was the first drama to have two bitches go after the female lead. It was really interesting. One tried to hurt her because she liked the second male lead (who had a one-sided love) and the other because the male lead (who also had a one-sided… obsession?)
I really enjoyed Do Hwi’s character, even though she was annoying af, she played her character well. It was different from the usually one dimensional bitch that she plays. It was over dramatic and funny. There were times where she was definitely out of line, but then again that’s usually the role she plays.
But my all time favorite thing about this drama was the use of jealousy! It was seriously the best in my opinion. I feel like they used it well in every case. With Jin rak, who harbored feelings for Dok mi got jealous whenever Que Guem lingered around her, just the look on his face said it all and it was funny and cute. When Dong hoon got jealous of Que Guem when the Boss Lady was fangirling over it, it was the cutest thing ever, omgggg! (on a side note I freaking loved Dong hoon and the Boss Lady!!  <3) Then when Dok mi admitted to being jealous of the pictures of Seo Young and Him from Spain. It was so interesting to see that side of her and see her admit to the things she was trying so hard to hide.
As always in the reviews I have to mention how amazinggggg the ost was! It was so perfect and fit well in each and every scene! Like I always say a good drama always has a good ost! Never seems to fail! All the quote as well! They were all so inspiring and wonderful! I really loved Que Guem’s game lectures too! They were great, I think if game designers were more like Que Guem then parents and kids wouldn’t be fighting all the time about the content and harmfulness of gaming. (but that’s not really the main focus, so yeah~ haha)
Overall I give this drama a 5/5! I really loved everything about it from the cast and characters, to the plot, osts, quotes, and all that jazz. For those who haven’t seen this drama yet, I would definitely recommend this as a must watch! I would ramble on some more, but I feel like this review is already a bit long as it is~ haha, Enjoy! :)
